The most important is to keep a safe eye on where and how you use your credit card. There are different sets of measures you can take you help ensure your credit card safety. In a restaurant make sure that when you are paying for what you have eaten go along to the counter and keep and eye on the whole process of making a receipt, try not to lend it to anybody else. Most restaurants already have mobile credit card terminals, which ensure that the credit card is always on your eyes.
When in a shop make it a point that before signing the correct amount has been entered in the receipt. If you want to pay by check through your credit card in a shop or a restaurant make sure you don’t allow the sales person to write down your credit card number on the check. If you are directly paying through credit card make it a point that the sales person doesn’t get to write your driver’s license or social security number, make sure he doesn’t even get a glimpse. When shopping avoid signing a blank receipt, whenever and where ever possible and carefully check the amount on the receipt and draw a line at the end of the amount so that it isn’t altered later in your absence.
It is very important to always save your copy of receipts so that you can counter check the amounts that appear on your monthly bank statement.
